Missy plays viola and guitar, as well as singing, and has recently started learning the accordion. She specialises in singing trad folk songs, originals and select covers, and playing Scandinavian, Irish and Balkan dance tunes.
Interested in poetry from a young age, she won a songwriting award at the Wintermoon Festival in 2011, and accidentally took out the Youth Traditions “Best Performance of an Australian Traditional Song” category at the 2015 Illawarra Folk Festival. Returning to Illawarra in 2017, somewhat more prepared this time, she won two categories with a cappella performances: “Best Performance of an Australian Traditional Song” and “Best Original Song in a Folk Style.”
She is currently based in the Northern Tablelands, NSW, and is available for weddings and other celebrations in the area.
